The automotive industry changed extensively in the last 30 years, but people who work in this area still struggle with obsolete management systems from the old days. Luckily our client decided to change old habits, and together we built an innovative solution for dealerships, repair shops, and second-hand car dealers.
The ultimate mission was to transform the ancient desktop solution into a new web application. We had to deal with hundreds of use cases and integrate 30+ car manufacturers, including Mercedes, Lexus, VW, etc. The app's scope involved market analysis features, vehicle purchases, orders, CRM, stock management, audits, accounting, and servicing. We also needed the app to work with other parts of the Carvago/Teas ecosystem as well as external solutions. Jimmy's team handled the car sales domain, finding ways to easily add new vehicles to the system and publish them to third-party sites. The ultimate challenge was to bring different 3rd party sales platforms that all run on other technologies and have various data requirements into one interface in DMS. Data migration had to be swift and smooth without any impact on users' businesses.
We reimagined the 30 years old solution used by the major part of the Czech and Slovakian automotive market from the ground up. The redefinition incorporates new seamless flows, stable technologies, high performance, security, and readiness to scale all over the globe without compromises. Jimmy's team created business requirements, prioritised, assigned responsibility areas, and synchronised standards with management and other stakeholders. Our crew made an in-depth analysis of existing data, systems, features, and user behavior. Due to the complexity of the vehicle publishing process to 3rd party platforms, we paid great attention to architecture and further expansion of connected sites. We prepared a data processing system that would synchronise extensive data tables between the app and the sites.
During the project, we followed the domain-driven design on top of the architecture inspired by the hexagonal approach. We turned certain parts of the system into microservices. The whole infrastructure is described in Terraform and runs in Kubernetes clusters.
The team has already carried out over 40 sprints in 2 weeks iterations. The product is already live and expands across the whole Europe.
"The quality of their results and overall the approach of the team is impressive. They constantly try to improve the product, the code and the workflow. In case of any issues they were always were quick with solving them, meaning both personal related and work related."
